Few of you with engineering background must be interested in switching to management flied and may be taking up CAT or other competitive exams for MBA. Here is a better opportunity to see IITs for MBA.

Once you made a decision about switching the field from engineering to management, you can take up JMET 2011 for admission to IITs in MBA. Placements wise IITs are heavens in India. Any degree from IITs can land you in dream job if you communicate well and perform well in selection process.
The details about JMET 2011 is as below

IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras, and IIT Roorkee
JMET is only a qualifying examination. Candidates have to apply separately to the Institutes of their choice. Candidates should note that the final selection would depend on their performance in each of the components of the selection process.
Eligibility Criteria
All the institutes have almost similar eligibility criteria as follows
Candidates with a first class Bachelor’s degree in engineering (or equivalent) or first class Master’s degree in Science (as given by the Institute/University) or 60% marks in aggregate (all years/semesters put together) or minimum CGPI of 6.5 out of 10 are eligible to apply. Candidates with M.Sc. must have 60% in bachelor’s as well as in M.Sc. degree. Qualifying degree of candidates with M.Tech. would be B.Tech./B.E. only. There is a relaxation of 5% in marks or equivalent in CGPI for SC/ST candidates.
JMET Exam Structure
The JMET 2011 will be of 3 hours duration. The test will consist of 120 questions (objective / multiple choice type) in the following sections in Verbal Communication, Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Ability, Data Interpretation.
There is negative marking for incorrect answers. For a wrong answer to a question, 25% of the marks allotted to that question will be deducted. Moreover, for a candidate to be qualified in JMET 2011, he/she should not only secure certain minimum marks in the test paper but also should necessarily obtain certain minimum marks in each of the four sections stated above.
JMET Results and Score card
JMET 2011 score is valid for one year from the date of announcement of the results.
Scorecard will be sent only to the qualified candidates. No information will be sent to the candidates who do not qualify.

The scorecard will indicate All India Rank, total marks obtained out of 120 marks and the marks obtained in each of the four sections viz. Verbal communication, Logical reasoning, Quantitative ability and Data interpretation. The score card will also contain the qualifying marks for each of the three categories (GE, OBC and SC/ST/PD).
